SEA Games 2025 Reshuffle 50 Sports

The 2025 SEA Games will be held in Thailand (doc. VOI).

JAKARTA In total there are 50 sports (sports), 569 numbers, and 105 disciplines will be competed in the 33rd edition of the SEA Games on 9-20 December 2025 in Thailand.

The host country agreed to reshuffle the sports, numbers, and discipline based on the results of the SEA Games Federation (SEAGAF) Meeting which was held in Bangkok, Thailand, on Friday, October 25, 2024.

"The results of the SEAGAF Meeting agreed that the 2025 SEA Games will compete in 569 match numbers from 50 sports and 105 disciplines."

"In addition to three demonstration sports, namely the flying disc, tug of war or mining tug and paragliding," said Chairman of the Indonesian Olympic Committee (KOI), Raja Sapta Oktohari.

At the meeting, the host also said that he would prepare three provinces to hold a prestigious event involving these Southeast Asian countries. The three cities are Bangkok, Chonburi, and Songkhla.

The hosts combine several sports into one category of extreme sports. The sports included in the extreme category are rock climbing, water ski and wakeboard, skateboarding, and jetski.

Okto, as Raja Sapta Oktohari is known, said that a number of sports in the 2025 SEA Games are part of the mandatory sports system in the Asian Games and Olympics.

"This is a great opportunity for Indonesian athletes to show their best abilities and bring home achievements for the nation," he said.

Currently, a number of sports in Indonesia have held training camps to welcome the biennial multi-branch event.

This event can be used by Indonesian athletes to prepare for qualifications to get tickets to the next Olympics in four years in Los Angeles, United States.
