Supporters Who Want To Support Directly The Indonesian National Team Must Have A Garuda ID

Supporters who watch the Indonesian national team match must have a Garuda ID (VOI/Ferry Tri Adi Sasono).

JAKARTA - PSSI firmly implements the database system as the main reference for supporters of the Indonesian national team. For supporters who want to support directly, they are required to have a Garuda ID.

The application of the use of Garuda ID was decided to support the security and comfort of the audience. Meanwhile, Garuda ID is an identity in the form of an account that must be owned to buy tickets for the Indonesian national team match.

Indonesian national team fans can create a Garuda ID account online through the official website kitagaruda.id.

This reflects on the chaotic condition of the audience who came to the Gelora Bung Karno Main Stadium (SUGBK) in September 2024 at the 2026 Asian Zone World Cup Qualification in a match against Australia.

At that time, the conditions inside the SUGBK looked very congested and there were a lot of spectators without tickets to enter the stadium area. Not only that, there are spectators who still smoke and sit not according to the ordered ticket number.

Reflecting on the events that occurred in the Australian match, PSSI conducted an evaluation for the convenience and security of the ticketing section.

PSSI General Chair Erick Thohir said the crowd density in SUGBK in the match was dangerous for stadium security.

"These things need total and fundamental changes. The first step is to replace security. Security is very technical," said PSSI Executive Committee, Arya Sinulingga, during a press conference session at the SUGBK press conference room on Thursday, October 24, 2024.

"We are conducting an auction against third parties to secure the stadium. Hopefully in the future, security and comfort positions will be maintained."

"Second, those who may enter, now the purchase of the first ticket must use Garuda ID, where there is an ID card and face using face recognition," said Arya again.

The news for the use of Garuda ID has also begun to spread since early October 2024. However, the readiness of the system from Garuda ID to accommodate the enthusiasm of the Indonesian national team audience is still being improved.

Apparently, the link directed to the Garuda ID system still uses a beta link. This means that the link is still intended for trial.

"It's a beta link intended for the community. It's a new system, a new machine. There are obstacles because it uses an email OTP, it turns out that the email system that comes in is considered spam," said Arya.

"Today there are already 24,000 supporters who have Garuda ID. There are still many not because it is still a process. Please understand because it is still a process. There are 6,000 who are in the process of resubmitting," said Arya again.

The Indonesian national team is scheduled to face Japan and Saudi Arabia in SUGBK in November 2024 in the continuation of Group F of the Third Round of Qualification for the 2026 World Cup.
