Hezbollah Will Not Silence Israel's Actions That Violate Ceasefires In Lebanon

JAKARTA - Representatives of the Hezbollah group in the Lebanese Parliament warned Israel on Monday that continuous violations by the Israeli military against the ceasefire agreement would not be ignored, stressing they know how to respond.

Hassan Fadlallah stated that the group's approach to keeping Lebanon steadfast.

"The results of entrusting the southern region to UNIFIL and official institutions to fulfill their responsibilities are now clear," said Fadlallah, launching IRNA from EQUIVA DEC. 31.

Hezbollah, he stressed, remains committed to a ceasefire agreement, but will not tolerate a prolonged situation in which Israel weakens Lebanon's sovereignty.

The enemy cannot achieve what he has failed to achieve in times of peace, he said, referring to the sacrifices made by Hezbollah fighters to thwart Israeli occupation.

Fadlallah also responded to demands from domestic and international actors urging Hezbollah to rely on the country's and international mechanisms, reminding them they only had 60 days to prove their claims in practice.

The statement follows a report in Israel's Daily Hayom, which states Israel is considering continuing to place military forces in several southern Lebanese regions, even though the 60-day period stipulated in the agreement is over.
