Indonesian U-20 Captain Admits There Is A Lot Of PR From The 2025 U-20 Asian Cup Qualification

JAKARTA - The U-20 Indonesian national team completed the 2025 U-20 Asian Cup Qualification with slick results.

Garuda Muda became the top of Group F with a collection of seven points from the results of two wins and one series.

In detail, winning 4-0 against the U-20 Maldives, overthrowing Timor Leste U-20 with a score of 3-1, and a series against Yemen U-20 1-1.

In fact, the acquisition of Indonesia U-20 points is the same as that of Yemen. However, Indra Sjafri's troops were ahead in the goal difference.

Indonesia U-20 also has the right to qualify for the 2025 U-20 Asian Cup final which will be held in China on 6-23 February 2025.

Before fighting with the Asian giants next year, there is still a lot of homework for Garuda Muda to be done.

The Indonesian U-20 captain, Dony Tri Pamungkas, revealed a number of shortcomings that must be corrected by himself and his colleagues.

Fortunately, the 2025 U-20 Asian Cup finals are still long. That is, there is still time to develop better.

"The first is about physical matters because there is only one day of inter-match break. We have to work hard, especially when holding back a draw (Yaman)."

"Then, we were still a little panicked when we conceded. In the future we have to strengthen each other and not panic," said Dony.

In October 2024, Indra Sjafri plans to hold a training camp as well as a trial of the PSSI Training Center at IKN.

The agenda will be used to improve some of the shortcomings obtained from the 2025 U-20 Asian Cup Qualifiers.

"If it is (a training camp), the leak will be a training camp later, just wait for the news."

"Of course, we have to be more compact, more focused. There must be an evaluation (of the coach), for example when there is a change in formation."

"We learn (from qualifications) to strengthen each other (if there is a change in formation)," said the Persija Jakarta player.

Furthermore, Dony Tri Pamungkas promised Indonesia U-20 would continue to work hard to achieve the target in the 2025 U-20 Asian Cup.

"Alhamdulillah, I am very grateful to qualify for the 2025 U-20 Asian Cup. This is the hard work of the team. We will continue to work hard and develop."

"We want the 2025 U-20 Asian Cup to reach the target of qualifying for the 2025 U-20 World Cup in Chile," said Dony again.

Indonesia U-20 is at Pot 3 in the 2025 U-20 Asian Cup draw. There are 16 teams that will fight there.

The four best teams, aka the semifinals, have the right to get tickets to the 2025 U-20 World Cup which will be held at Chile.
