Carlo Ancelotti Affirms Rodrygo Goes Happy At Real Madrid, Denies Rumors Of Dissatisfaction

JAKARTA - Spanish League club coach Real Madrid, Carlo Ancelotti, confirmed that Brazilian winger Rodrygo Goes is happy at the club and all the news about his dissatisfaction is not true. Ancelotti conveyed this to straighten out the growing speculation regarding Rodrygo's situation in the team.

"I've spoken to him and asked what happened. The news is wrong. He is very happy here and continues to work hard," said Ancelotti, quoted from Real Madrid's official website, Saturday, August 14.

Rodrygo is being hit by unpleasant rumors that he feels his efforts in the squad are not appreciated by the team. Famous media, including Goal.com, reported that Rodrygo allegedly through his Whatsapp account uploaded a rejection of the "BMV" acronym referring to the current Real Madrid trio: Jude Bellingham, Kylian Mbappe, and Vinicius Junior. Rodrygo wants his initials "R" to be included in the abbreviation.

The post was allegedly published after Rodrygo scored Real Madrid's single goal in a 1-1 draw against Real Mallorca in the Spanish League, Monday 19 August WIB, and was later removed. However, Rodrygo did not issue any statement regarding the news, but the post was seen as a sign of Rodrygo's discomfort at Real Madrid.

Carlo Ancelotti feels the need to clarify to calm the situation. In addition to confirming that Rodrygo is happy at Real Madrid, the Italian coach also ensures that the 23-year-old is one of the important players in his squad.

"We all know how high the quality is. He did his job well in the previous two matches. He scored against Mallorca and contributed a lot when he faced Atalanta in the UEFA Super Cup. He did his job well," said Ancelotti.

Ancelotti also emphasized that there is nothing more to discuss about Rodrygo's situation. "We will no longer comment on Rodrygo because there is nothing to comment on," said Ancelotti.

Apart from discussing Rodrygo, Ancelotti also gave his views on the two new Real Madrid players, Kylian Mbappe and Endrick. According to him, the two players were able to adapt well to the team and show their best abilities during training.

Ancelotti said that Real Madrid's second match in the 2024-2025 Spanish League against Real Valladolid will be a special moment because Mbappe will appear for the first time at the Santiago Bernabeu Stadium, Real Madrid headquarters. "Our supporters will certainly enjoy their performances," said Ancelotti.

Meanwhile, regarding Endrick, Ancelotti praised his fantastic quality and stated that the young Brazilian deserved a decent playing time, taking into account the competition in the team.
