Liverpool Vs Brentford: Arne Slot Ready To Make Competitive Debut At Anfield

JAKARTA Liverpool's new manager, Arne Slot, will make his competitive debut at Anfield on Sunday 25 August when the Reds host Brentford in the Premier League. The two won in the first week, with Liverpool beating Ipswich Town 2-0, while Brentford won 2-1 over Crystal Palace.

Liverpool started this season well under Slot's direction, beating Ipswich Town in the opener. Mohamed Salah again scored in the first week, extending his record to nine goals in the Premier League opener. This victory is also the first for a Liverpool manager in a Premier League debut match since Gerard Houllier in 1998.

Slot, who has just replaced Jörgen Klopp, will undergo his first exam at Anfield. During Klopp's final season, Liverpool have lost just one of 19 home games in the Premier League. Slot will try to become Liverpool's first manager to win his first two Premier League games.

On the other hand, Brentford, who was raised by Thomas Frank, also started the season with a win over Crystal Palace. Although Ivan Toney is absent due to speculation of transfer, Brentford has won three points thanks to goals from Bryan Mbeumo and Yoane Wissa.
