JAKARTA - Leroy Sane hopes to emulate the impact of Lamine Yamal and Nico Williams when hosting Euro 2024, Germany, faces Spain in the quarter-finals on Friday, July 5.

Germany will face La Roja for a place in the semifinals at Stuttgart after beating Denmark 2-0 in the round of 16, while Luis de la Fuente's side beat Georgia 4-1 after falling behind.

Spain is arguably the most prominent team in the tournament so far, with the impact of their young wing duo, Yamal and Williams, attracting attention.

The sixteen-year-old Lamine Yamal scored an assist as she became the youngest player to appear in the Euro match against Croatia in the group round, also providing assists to Fabian Ruiz against Georgia to become the first teenager with multiple assists at the Euros since Cristiano Ronaldo in 2004 (also two).

Meanwhile, Williams scored a beautiful solo goal on Sunday, June 30, becoming the first player to score, provide assists, and complete 100% of passes (46/46) in a game he started at the Euros.

Yamal (11) and Williams (nine) were ranked third and seventh respectively for the successfully completed debris at Euro 2024, with the first also ranked fifth for the total distance he brought forward (556.8 meters).

After replacing Florian Wirtz in Germany's starting lineup against Denmark, Bayern Munich player Sane is eager to match his fellows.

"Especially when they won possession, they immediately tried to play ahead. They now have additional weapons with two very fast wingers," Sane said of Spain. "What happened in the past against Spain, we can't change it. Our goal is to reach the next round and we will do everything we can to achieve it."

Sane had an unstable season with Bayern, with a groin problem he experienced during a Bundesliga match that threatened his place in the German national team.

Reflecting on his disrupted preparations, Sane added: "I don't know how long this injury will last and whether I will be able to take part in this tournament. In the end I am here and happy that everything is going well and I can recover and be here for the Euros."

"It hasn't completely disappeared but it's far away, much better than before. I no longer feel pain and it's very good," he said.
