Indonesia U-23 Vs Guinea U-23: Team Duel Set Sama Towards The 2024 Paris Olympics

Indonesia U-23 will face Guinea U-23 in the race for the final ticket to the 2024 Paris Olympics (doc. PSSI).

JAKARTA - The U-23 Indonesian national team's efforts to win tickets to the 2024 Paris Olympics are getting longer. Now, Garuda Muda has one last way left, namely against the African representative, Guinea U-23.

The Indonesia U-23 vs Iraq U-23 meeting in the third place in the U-23 2024 Asian Cup was not as expected. The 1-2 defeat in that match made the chance to qualify directly for the 2024 Paris Olympics run aground.

On the first occasion to take place in the Olympics, Indonesia U-23 lost to Uzbekistan U-23 which failed to reach the 2024 U-23 Asian Cup final. While on the second occasion, in the race for third place, Garuda Muda had to admit the superiority of Iraq U-23.

However, the road to Paris has not been closed. There is still only chance, namely through the inter-confederation playoffs against Guinea U-23, fourth place in the 2024 U-23 Africa Cup of Nations.

If they win against Guinea U-23, Shin Tae-yong's team will enter Group A of the 2024 Paris Olympics with France, the United States, and New Zealand.

Meanwhile, Guinea U-23 is not an easy opponent. They could be serious challengers in the 2023 U-23 Africa Cup of Nations.

Indonesia U-23 has performed its only at the Olympics, namely in 1956 in Melbourne, Australia. Meanwhile, Guinea U-23 first appeared at the Olympics in the 1968 edition of Mexico.

No wonder, the Indonesia U-23 vs Guinea U-23 duel will be fierce considering that both have the same background.
