DPR Collects TNI Commander-Police Chief to Discuss Security Ahead of RI Independence Day

JAKARTA - Deputy Speaker of the House of Representatives Sufmi Dasco Ahmad together with the leadership of the defense and security commission of the House of Representatives of the Republic of Indonesia gathered the TNI ranks to the National Police which was attended by the TNI Commander General Agus Subiyanto to the National Police Chief General Listyo Sigit Prabowo to discuss security and order ahead of the 81st anniversary of the Republic of Indonesia.

The meeting was held in the DPR leadership room, DPR building, Senayan, Jakarta, Monday, August 10. In addition to the DPR leadership, commission leaders, and the TNI-Polri ranks, the meeting was also attended by the Minister of State Secretary (Mensesneg) Prasetyo Hadi.

"It focuses on the issue of kamtibmas (public security and order)," said Agus when interviewed after the meeting, as reported by ANTARA, Monday, August 10.

In addition, the meeting was also attended by the Chief of Staff of the Army (KSAD) General TNI Maruli Simanjuntak, the Chief of Staff of the Navy (KSAL) Admiral TNI Muhammad Ali, and the Chief of Staff of the Air Force (KSAU) Marshal TNI Mohamad Tonny Harjono.

Meanwhile, the Minister of Home Affairs also conveyed that the meeting discussing security and order was also directed at preparing for the Annual Session of the MPR RI on August 14, 2026 at the parliament complex which will be attended by President Prabowo Subianto.

In principle, he ensured that all things were prepared as best as possible. According to him, the National Police Chief and the Commander-in-Chief will also prepare technical security matters well.

"But everything is okay, yes, everything is prepared as best as possible. Of course, that is part of our responsibility together," said Prasetyo.
