Megawati Hanggestri Officially Signs New Contract With Red Economy

JAKARTA - The Indonesian national team volleyball player, Megawati Hanggestri Pertiwi, officially signed a new contract with Redmen who he played for last season.

The new contract agreement between athletes from Jember and the South Korean volleyball club was confirmed by the media from the country The Sports Times on Tuesday, April 30, 2024.

"Without a doubt, we decided to renew our contract with Megawati," said Red total coach Ko Hee-jin, reported by The Sports Times.

According to the report, Megawati received a fairly tempting salary in this latest collaboration. The 24-year-old athlete is said to have received a wage of IDR 2.4 billion.

That number is claimed to increase by 50 percent from last season. Last season, Megawati reportedly received a salary of IDR 1.6 billion.

Ko Hee-jin said that Megawati was happy to be back working together. He wants to be able to show a better performance in the new season.

"Mega juga ingin menunjukkan performa yang lebih baik musim depan. Kami akan bersiap diri dengan baik untuk menciptakan efek sinergi yang baik sejak awal musim," katanya.

Megawati last season made a big contribution to Red knowledge. He helped the team reach the semifinals of the playoffs for the first time in seven years.

After completing the competition in South Korea, Megawati returned to Indonesia. He is now strengthening Jakarta BIN at the highest level of the Indonesian volleyball league, Proliga 2024.
