Stefano Pioli: Inter Milan Achieves Scudetto, Milan Focuss On Against Roma

JAKARTA - AC Milan, who is ranked second, has given up on the hunt for the Scudetto. Milan coach Stefano Pioli said Inter, who won the Italian Serie A. This made Milan focus on fighting AS Roma in the second match of the Europa League quarter-finals.

Milan failed to close points with Inter after a 3-3 draw against Sassuolo. The result left Milan 14 points behind. The reason is, Inter was also matched by Cagliari with a score of 2-2.

Milan's failure to make Inter closer to reaching the Scudetto. The Derby della Madonnina match which brings together the Milan duo will be a decision.

If Inter win against Milan in a duel at the San Siro Stadium, April 23, 2024 in the morning WIB, then they will secure the league title for the 20th time.

However, Pioli has given up because Milan are far behind. "Inter is definitely winning the Scudetto. But we will try to do whatever we can to win at the derby," Pioli said.

Before playing a prestigious derby, Milan will first face Roma in the second match of the quarter-finals.

Roma clearly made a profit because they only needed a draw in the home game. On the other hand, Milan had to win the match.

At least, Rafael Leao et al need a win of at least 2-0 to catch the goal deficit. This is what makes Milan choose to focus on fighting Roma rather than thinking about derbys.

"Roma played well at the San Siro. On the other hand, we played under performance. If we play at the level I expected, then the match will be a draw," said Pioli.

In that match, defender Simon Kjaer will be absent due to a muscle injury. But goalkeeper Mike Maignan has recovered and will return to standing under the bar. Maignan himself did not appear when Milan drew against Sassuolo.
