As A Result Of The Postponement Of The Match, PT LIB Will Discuss With The Club On Subsidies

Liga 1 2023/2024 was postponed due to the agenda of the U-23 Indonesian national team (doc. PT LIB).

JAKARTA - PT Liga Indonesia Baru (LIB) as the operator of the League 1 competition admitted that they would hold discussions with the clubs participating in Liga 1 2023/2024. This will be done in order to open up the possibility of subsidies related to the temporary suspension of the 31st week of the competition.

After rolling until the 30th week on March 30, 2024, the 31st week had to be postponed due to the agreement between PT LIB and PSSI.

This was done in the interest of the U-23 Indonesian national team who will take part in the U-23 Asian Cup on 23 April-3 May 2024.

The aftermath of the sudden cessation of competition clearly caused some losses to the club. The reason is, they have to recalculate operating expenses which include home matches, away matches, and player salaries.

Responding to the crucial situation, PT LIB tried to find a middle ground with the intention of having a discussion with the club. They are also trying to provide subsidies to the club over the decisions taken.

"Certainly we will build discussions with club owners about it (the postponement of the match). There has been talk with club owners and there will be a solution for that," said Public Relations of PT LIB Sabana Badminton when met at GBK Arena, Senayan, Central Jakarta on Tuesday, April 2, 2024.

Given the league schedule that was temporarily suspended, it is certain that Liga 1 will end in resignation from its original plan. The prediction is that Liga 1 2023/2024 will be completed in May 2024.

Regarding this matter, Sabina stated that her party would still carry out several calculations so that the highest strata competition could be completed on time.

"We are targeting League 1 to be completed in May 2024, but we are still formulating it first. We will inform you soon for further follow-up after the delay," said Sabina.

Meanwhile, PSSI Executive Committee Member Arya Sinulingga admitted that the decision to temporarily terminate Liga 1 was quite dilemmatic.

However, this must be done in the interests of the U-23 Indonesian national team and League 1 clubs.

"We are in a dilemma, yes. On the one hand, the U-23 Indonesian national team has a tournament too. Meanwhile, the club will also take all the players, what will they do?"

"So, this is so that the club can be saved that they can play after that with a complete team," Arya said on the same occasion.
