Persib Vs Persija Match Has The Opportunity To Be Attended By Spectators, PSSI Secretary General: The Federation Doesn't Want To Miss Again

Persib still have a chance to hold a match with the audience against Persija (Instagram/@persib).

JAKARTA - PSSI Secretary General, Yunus Nusi, responded to the Persib Bandung vs Persija Jakarta match which could possibly be held with the presence of spectators.

If the possibility is open then the permit will be carefully studied so that the federation does not miss again.

Previously, it was known that the prestigious match between Persib and Persija would be held in the 28th week of Liga 1 2023/2024, Saturday, March 9, 2024. However, the match at Si Jalak Harupat Stadium was threatened with no spectators.

This situation occurred because Persib was being sanctioned by the PSSI Disciplinary Committee (Komdis). The sanction was sent by Komdis PSSI to Persib in a letter numbered 191/L1/SK/KD-PSSl/III/2024 on Friday, March 1, 2024.

Based on the letter, Persib was prohibited from holding matches with spectators once. The sanctions were given due to chaos in the Persib vs PSIS Semarang match on February 27, 2024.

Even so, there is little hope for Persib Bandung to present supporters in the hot match later. You see, Maung Bandung can still appeal to the PSSI Appeal Committee.

Regarding the appeal, Yunus Nusi stated that he had not received the appeal letter. To be able to submit a spectator presence, Persib must follow all appeal procedures so that it runs smoothly.

"Not yet (received an appeal letter). We are waiting for the letter. We will do everything procedurally because this also involves a very big risk," said Yunus Nusi.

"Of course we will accommodate suggestions and opinions from various elements and must reflect on several incidents," he said.

Meanwhile, Persib must go through careful consideration so that the appeal is approved. You see, the tension of Persib vs Persija matches is always high. If both supporters are present at the stadium, of course it is too risky.

Therefore, PSSI and PT LIB (Liga Indonesia Baru) will be very observant in considering decisions. They don't want fatal events in the realm of supporters to happen again.

"We also don't want to be missed again because of an incident like, sorry, Kanjuruhan. It's really amazing to hit the federation," said Yunus.

"We hope that in the future our friends will hold back from each other. Friends (supporters) must understand. When PSSI makes decisions without spectators, yes, just like that, they must also be followed and understand that," he said.
