Shayne Pattynama Closes To KAS Eupen After Appearing In The 2023 Asian Cup With The Indonesian National Team

JAKARTA - Shayne Pattynama and Elkan Baggott were both kicked out of their clubs while defending the Indonesian national team in the 2023 Asian Cup.

Previously, Elkan Baggott had been marginalized from the Ipswich Town squad for the half of this season.

Luckily, the 21-year-old defender immediately got a new club after returning to England after bringing the Garuda Squad to the last 16 of the 2023 Asian Cup. He was officially loaned to the Bristol Rovers from Ipswich Town.

The same thing happened to Shayne Pattynama. The Red-White Team left-back officially joined the Belgian club, KAS Eupen, on Friday, February 2, 2024.

Shayne's condition was actually more unlucky than Elkan. He was without a club while defending the Indonesian national team in the 2023 Asian Cup.

Shayne's contract with the Viking FK has been completed and the club has not extended it.

Although he had waited a short time, now Shayne Pattynama has finally announced his new club. Together with KAS Eupen, Pattynama was tied to a contract with a duration of 2.5 years or until June 2026.

The news of Shayne Pattynama's joining was officially announced by KAS Eupen who also greeted the player enthusiastically.

"KAS Eupen signed a collaboration with Indonesian national team player, Shayne Pattynama. KAS Eupen has recruited 25-year-old left-back and Indonesian midfielder Shayne Pattynama. This new player from KAS Eupen has a height of 185 centimeters and plays for the Norwegian first division club, Viking FK Stavanger, until December 31, 2023," wrote KAS Eupen on their official website.

"The Indonesian national team player has signed a contract for 2.5 years with KAS Eupen until June 30, 2026. KAS Eupen is looking forward to working with Shayne Pattynama and welcoming her very warmly at the club," the statement continued.

Interestingly, Shayne Pattynama, who will appear in the Belgian Pro League, has the potential to meet his teammate, Sandy Walsh. As is known, Sandy Walsh also competed in the Belgian Pro League for KV Mechelen.

Meanwhile, KAS Eupen is also not a foreign club for Indonesian football lovers. KAS Eupen was Jordi Amat's club before he moved to JDT.

Currently KAS Eupen is ranked 13th in the Belgian Pro League. The position is under the club Sandy Walsh, Mechelen, who is on the eighth stairs.
