Marquez Is Nervous That He Will Debut In Ducati And Will Not Be Willing To Compare It With Honda

JAKARTA - MotoGP racer, Marc Marquez, will make his debut with the Ducati Satellite team, Gresini Racing, in the 2024 season. Arriving in the new season with a new team, Marquez could not hide his nervousness.

"I feel nervous, it feels like there's a butterfly in my stomach," said MRc Marquez, quoted from the official MotoGP website on Wednesday, January 10, 2024.

"Even though I've been in this (MotoGP) championship for years, it's a big change," he added.

Even though he admitted that he was nervous, Marquez tried to accept and enjoy the situation that was in front of his eyes.

For the Spaniard, this situation is commonplace. He just had to try a little more to adapt.

I'm trying to understand everything with the new technical team and my new bike. In the end, I jumped into the winning motorbike. So, after that, it's in my hands," said Marquez.

Before the 2024 season began, the six-time MotoGP champion had conducted a trial session with Gresini after the 2023 MotoGP final race in Valencia.

Marquez said he was satisfied with the ride in the new team even though there were a few adjustments that had to be faced for the new season race in March 2024.

"It (trial) is an adaptation day, especially regarding the position of the motorbike. We changed a few things because in some areas I didn't feel fully comfortable. However, the speed is still there," said Marquez.

I understand the bike and how to organize it. I still have a lot to learn, maybe not to go faster, but to be more consistent and safer," he said.

After undergoing trials with his new bike, the question of comparison with his old team, Honda, is clearly inevitable. Marquez was mentioned about the RC213V motorcycle he had been riding on Honda for years.

However, the rider chose to answer wisely. Marquez refused to share his thoughts on the topic.

"I don't like to compare motorcycles, especially in public. It's a different motorbike, with a different driving style," said the rider with number 93.

"There are things that need to be understood at the level of position and communication with the team. This is logical because I have worked with the same group for 11 years."

"They received me very well. Everything was very fun and it helped me get better and relaxed," he said.

After the first trial, the second 2024 MotoGP trial session will be held at the Sepang International Circuit, Malaysia, on February 6-8, 2024.

The opening race for the 2024 MotoGP will be marked by the first race at the Losail International Circuit, Qatar, on March 8-11, 2024.
