Paul Pogba Demanded A Four-year Sentence For Doping Case

JAKARTA - The anti-doping prosecutor's office in Italy has completed the doping test procedure for Paul Pogba.

Launching Tutto MercatoWeb, the anti-doping authority demanded that the Juventus player be suspended for four years.

As is known, Pogba failed a routine doping test when Juventus will face Udinese in Serie A 2023/2024 at the end of August 2023.

In the next preliminary test and counter-analysis, Pogba has DHEA tracks on its body system, a banned substance in Serie A.

A maximum sentence of four years will be a sanction if there are no negotiations on the defense of the French player.

Pogba is expected to be tried in front of the Italian anti-doping court. He has been temporarily suspended since the initial doping test results came out.

The 30-year-old has only played 52 minutes in competitive action in two Serie A appearances this season. Despite being on the bench, Pogba was not involved in the match against Udinese at the time because he tested positive for DHEA.

Pogba actually received a net annual salary of 8 million euros (Rp134 billion) before the suspension. The contract is valid until the summer of 2026. However, currently Pogba only receives a salary of 42,000 euros (Rp703 million) per year during his suspension.

If Pogba has been suspended for four years, Juve could try to terminate his contract unilaterally.
