JAKARTA - Minister of Agrarian Affairs and Spatial Planning/Head of the National Land Agency (ATR/BPN) Nusron Wahid said his party would immediately meet with the Governor of the Special Region of Yogyakarta Sri Sultan Hamengku Buwono X to discuss land rights in Yogyakarta.
"We will talk to Kanjeng Sultan regarding the issue of implementing land rights in Yogyakarta," said Nusron when met at the PP Muhammadiyah Office, Jalan Cik Ditiro, Yogyakarta City, Antara, Wednesday, December 18.
This was conveyed by Nusron in response to the polemic of the Yogyakarta Palace lawsuit worth Rp1,000 to PT Kereta Api Indonesia (KAI) related to land ownership located in the assembly area of Yogyakarta Station.
Specifically, according to Nusron, his party will talk to Sultan HB X about land in Yogyakarta, especially those with the status of non-land of Keprabon. The land of Keprabon is Sultanate land which is used for palace buildings and their completeness.
"The land of Keprabon, on an issue, has been completed. Indeed, that is Kanjeng Sultan's right," he said.
However, regarding the regulation of non-Keprabon land in Yogyakarta, Nusron assessed that there was a difference in the interpretation between what was stated in the Speciality Law (UU) with the Agrarian Principles Law.
"Well, because there is a difference in interpretation, we need to talk between the Minister of BPN and Kanjeng Sultan. We will schedule it further, including KAI land which involves land, not Keprabon," he said.
Previously, Sultan HB X said that the lawsuit was filed by the Yogyakarta Palace to PT KAI to clarify the legal position on the Sultanate land claimed by PT KAI as part of their fixed assets.
The compensation value that was sued was only Rp1,000.
According to the Sultan, the Sultanate or Sultan Ground (SG) land is an asset that has been separated from the state, but is still managed as a state-owned asset, not state land.
Thus, PT KAI only has building rights (HGB) on the land, not ownership rights.

"There is no problem, it's an asset separated from the state. Sultan Ground is not a state-owned asset (PT.KAI). So, we agree that PT.KAI cannot remove the land ownership without a court decision," said Sri Sultan in an official statement from the DIY Regional Government.
