FIFA U-17 World Cup 2023: Germany U-17 Is Ambitious To Make History In Indonesia

Germany U-17 is motivated to marry European Cup Under-17 and FIFA U-17 World Cup (doc. LOC WCU17) titles.

JAKARTA - German U-17 coach Christian Wuck has big ambitions to bring his team to win FIFA U-17 World Cup 2023 Indonesia when they meet France U-17 in the final.

Der Panzer's final match against Les Bleus will take place at Manahan Stadium, Solo, Central Java, Saturday, December 2, 2023.

Germany U-17 will hunt for their first title at this event. Wuck said he didn't want to waste the opportunity in sight. He believes his squad has the quality to make history.

"Of course we want to win this tournament so that it can be recorded in history. That will be our ambition. We know we can do it. Now we have to look forward to what will happen," he said.

Der Panzer's duel against France U-17 will be a revenge party. The two teams previously met in the 2023 U-17 European Cup final which took place in June 2023 in Hungary.

At that time, Germany U-17 came out as champions. Therefore, France U-17 certainly wanted to avenge their defeat and at the same time bury Der Panzer's dream of marrying the U-17 European Cup titles and the FIFA U-17 World Cup.

"This is a very interesting experience for us. You see, we can play again against France U-17 after facing them in the previous few months," Wuck said.

If able to come out as world champion then Germany U-17 will be the first European country to be able to marry European Cup Under-17 and FIFA U-17 World Cup titles.

Germany U-17 has never previously won the FIFA U-17 World Cup. Their best achievement was runners-up in the first edition of 1985 which took place in China.

Meanwhile, France U-17 has already experienced the FIFA U-17 World Cup title. They raised the title once in this event in 2001 which took place in Tokyo and Tobago.
