U-17 World Cup Results 2023: Beat AS U-17, France U-17 Group F Champion

JAKARTA - The U-17 French national team emerged as winners of Group F after a landslide victory 3-0 over America Serika U-17 in the last match of the 2023 U-17 World Cup preliminary round at the Jakarta International Stadium, Jakarta, Saturday, November 18, 2023.

France became the best when they met the US. The two teams have actually made sure to qualify for the last 16. Their game is just a formality or determines who will win the group.

France finally performed after beating the US. They got the perfect points and became the only one who never conceded.

Appearing as group winners, France will meet Senegal U-17 in the round of 16. On the other hand, the US will work extra hard because it meets Germany's leading U-17 team.

In that match, France had difficulty dealing with the US. They were only able to break into the opponent's goal towards the end of the first half.

Joan Tincres' goal was scored in first-half injury time. Score 1-0 for France. Next, they added a goal in the second half. The goal was created towards the end of the match.

Tincres made a brace in the 82nd minute. Only four minutes later, it was Bastian Meupiyou's turn to strengthen France's lead to 3-0.

"We made a lot of changes to the players in this match. Even so, we can still perform well. This shows that we have a lot of the best players in this squad," said French coach Jean-Luc Vannuchi.

"It is important for us to win the match and become group winners. This also means that we will continue to play in Jakarta (in the round of 16)," he said.

"In addition, we have never conceded in the group stage. This is certainly a good thing," he said again.
