Bezzecchi's Injury Improving, Opportunity to Join Silverstone MotoGP Open

JAKARTA - The opportunity for Marco Bezzecchi to take part in the 2026 British MotoGP race at the Silverstone Circuit early next month is getting closer as his recovery is going well.

The first race of the second half of this season's competition at Silverstone will take place on 7-9 August 2026. That is the 12th Grand Prix in the 2026 MotoGP race calendar.

Bezzecchi, who had dominated the start of the season, is sure to face a race against time to be fully fit when the championship resumes so that he can maintain his position in the world championship.

"I'm better. Recovery is going according to plan," said the Italian rider as reported by Motosprint.

Bezzecchi was forced to withdraw from the last round of the MotoGP in Germany before the summer break due to an injury he suffered in an accident during Qualifying 2 (Q2). He fell because he slipped while entering Turn 7.

The rider who defended the Aprilia Racing team then underwent a collarbone surgery immediately after the accident and had to undergo another procedure on his knee to clean the wound.

Bezzecchi previously said that his target was to be able to make a comeback at Silverstone. This desire seems to have come true after he released the latest news at the recent CIV Misano night race.

The CIV Misano was followed by Francesco Bagnaia, Celestino Vietti, Luca Marini, and Franco Morbidelli, and the legend Valentino Rossi. However, Bezzecchi, who is still injured, was only present as an audience.

"I'm always happy to come back to CIV where I always meet a lot of friends and teammates, it's beautiful," said the 27-year-old.

Bezzecchi briefly topped the 2026 MotoGP riders' standings, but he is now down to fourth place with 186 points. He is behind Marc Marquez (190 points) in third place, Ai Ogura (194 points) in second place, and Jorge Martin (208 points) at the top.
