Japanese Player Also Scores A Goal, Liverpool Win Decisively Against Toulouse In The Europa League

JAKARTA - Liverpool won 5-1 over Toulouse in the Europa League Group E match at Anfield Stadium, Friday, October 27, early WIB. All Liverpool goals were shared equally, including Japanese national team midfielder Wataru Endo.

Endo is the second Japanese player to join the Reds after Takumi Minamino. However, Minamino did not last long at Anfield. He only lasted two seasons.

Minamino was recruited from RB Salzburg in 2020. Even though he had shown his abilities, he was then released to Monaco in 2022.

After Minamino left, Endo became the second Japanese player to join Liverpool. He was recruited from VfB Stuttgart and immediately received a four-year contract even though he was already 30.

In the match against Toulouse, Endo had the opportunity to start. With him, Liverpool started the match brilliantly. The match had only been running for nine minutes, forward Diogo Jota had already found the back of the opponent's goal.

However, the Reds' advantage did not last long. The French Ligue 1 team was able to equalize the score when Thijs Dallinga scored after receiving Aron Doennum's assist in the 16th minute.

After the score was 1-1, Liverpool started to be unstoppable. Endo started Liverpool's goal party. He successfully broke through Toulouse's goal in the 31st minute. This was Endo's first goal since joining Liverpool.

Only three minutes later, it was Darwin Nunez's turn to solidify the hosts' lead. The 3-1 score lasted until the first half ended.

In the second half, Liverpool, who played aggressively, did not give their opponents a chance to develop their game. Only The Pool's attacks began to be repelled by the opponent's defense.

However, Liverpool were finally able to add a goal even though they had to wait until the 65th minute. Midfielder Ryan Gravenberch showed his action to outwit goalkeeper Guillaume Restes before putting the ball into the net.

Forward Mohamed Salah capped Liverpool's glory. He broke into Restes' goal with a shot from close range in injury time. Liverpool also closed the match with a score of 5-1.

This landslide victory confirmed Liverpool's position at the top of the standings with nine points.

Liverpool are unbeaten and have picked up perfect points from their three group stage matches. This makes Liverpool increasingly smooth their steps to the next round.

Meanwhile, Toulouse, which has four points, is in third place. His position was shifted by Union St. Gilloise who beat LASK 2-1. Both teams have the same points, but Union St. Gilloise is ahead on goal difference.
