MotoGP 2024: Ducati Boss Claims Marquez Racing For Gresini For Free

JAKARTA - Ducati Corse Sports Director, Paolo Ciabatti, revealed a surprising statement about Marc Marquez's salary in Gresini Racing. He said the Spaniard would not be paid when he strengthened Gresini Racing in the 2024 MotoGP.

During the 2023 MotoGP, Marc Marquez became the rider with the largest salary. He is claimed to earn 20 million euros (IDR 366 billion) per year with Repsol Honda.

However, Marquez's decision to move closer to Gresini Racing made him have to experience financial changes. Ciabatti feels that Gresini, who is a satellite team, will not be able to pay Marquez's salary as much as in Repsol Honda.

"That a racer like Marc Marquez decided to appear for free for the satellite team, so that he could ride a Ducati motorcycle is something of pride," Ciabatti was quoted as saying by Marca, Wednesday, October 25.

"As far as I know, the situation is like that (not paid). But you have to ask Gresini and Marquez yourself if they want to talk."

"Marquez will race without being paid, of course Gresini will not be able to pay the money that is usually given to Marc Marquez," the Italian added.

Marc Marquez decided to join Gresini Racing for one season in MotoGP 2024. In his new team, Marc Marquez will have a duet with his younger brother Alex Marquez.
