Liverpool Difficulty Winning, Jurgen Klopp Calls Union Saint-Gelioise A Strong Team

JAKARTA - Liverpool navigated a hard fee in the Europa League. A match that was really not easy and made it difficult for Liverpool before winning 2-0 over Union Saint-Griffice in Group E at Anfield Stadium, Friday, October 6 in the morning WIB. Even Jurgen Klopp's manager called Union SG a stable, strong or stubborn team that had been conquered.

Liverpool face an opponent who never gives up. Union SG's competitive defensive strategy makes Anfield's stunting seem meaningless to this Belgian club player.

Responding to his opponent, Klopp said that Union SG was not an easy opponent. Union SG's success at the top of the standings in the Pro Belgian League shows that they are indeed a strong team. Before coming to Anfield, Union SG successfully beat Charleroi Sporting Club 3-1 in domestic competitions.

"They occupy the top position of the [League Pro] standings. After all, Belgium is a country that has a very good football culture. If we play a little more openly, we might be easier to win. But the important thing is we win," Klopp was quoted as saying on the UEFA page.

"In the early minutes, I thought we were a strong team. We also defended very well. But we also lost the rhythm of the game and the opponent had several chances through set pieces. Overall, we should have played better even though we ended up scoring two late goals," he said.

Klopp also praised Gravenberch for overcoming The Pool's deadlock. According to him, Gravenberch shows his quality as a reliable player. Moreover, the performance of this 21-year-old player was also very good when he was still playing at Bayern.

"I'm happy with him. While still at Bayern, he also played well. He played up to 25 times. This is certainly a good thing for young players like him," said the German.

Victory over Union SG puts Liverpool at the top of Group E with six points. In the next match, Liverpool will fight again in the English Premier League against Brighton and Hove Albion, Sunday, October 8.

Brighton itself won the first point in the Europa League after a 2-2 draw against Marseille. Brighton has the opportunity to improve their position if they beat Liverpool.
