San Marino's MotoGP Qualification Results: Jorge Martin First, Francesco Bagnaia Third

JAKARTA The 2023 San Marino MotoGP Qualification has been completed. Pramac Ducati racer Jorge Martin will start the race from the first position after breaking Misano's lap record in the qualifying session.

Before Martin, Maverick Vinales and Marco Bezzecki broke lap records. However, Martin was able to spur his motorbike to sharpen lap records while ensuring pole position for both the Sprint Race and the Main Race.

Previous record holders Bezzecki and leaders Francesco Bagnaia will start the race from the front row, as well as affirm Ducati's superiority at home.

Last weekend's Catalunya MotoGP champion Aleix Espargaro surprisingly entered Q1 and started with Joan Mir behind him. Although Mir managed to stalk him for traveling faster than Espargaro, two Yamaha manufacturers were able to occupy the top two positions after taking the lead in the early minutes of Q1.

Fabio Quartararo carved out one minute 32 seconds before Miguel Oliveira thought he was able to take over the top position with a time of one minute 31 seconds.

However, the Aprilia RNF driver's record was removed, while Pol Espargaro had a bad start in qualifying. The KTM rider fell on his second lap, increasing the number of accidents to three this weekend.

Oliveira then bounced back to become the fastest four-tenths of a second ahead of Quartararo. Down in ninth, the second and final paces are very important for Espargaro, as well as Johann Zarco who sits in 11th position.

As the lap time heats up, Pol ends his session with a second crash at Turn 13. His older brother Aleix exerted his full power as he became the fastest on his final lap.

However, this was not enough to detain Oliveira because the Portuguese driver responded with a time of 1:31,272 seconds.

Entering the Q2 session Brad Binder became a leader, although his opening time was almost eight tenths lower than Oliveira's time in Q1. World champion Francesco Bagnaia removed his first lap as it exceeded track limits.

A major increase was discovered on the second lap as Marco Bezzecki recorded the fastest lap. Still using the first tire set, Martin later became the third rider to set a new lap record this weekend as he picked up a temporary pole.

The Pramac racer has not finished there because he then sharpened four tenths of a second on his own record lap to lead six tenths of a second from Dani Pedrosa. Bezzecki also got more time when he took second place, but the Italian was still four-tenths of a second adrift of Martin.
