Borussia Dortmund Legend Holds Clinical Coaching In Jakarta, PSSI: Hopefully It Can Give Birth To Young Talents Of Indonesian National Team Regeneration

JAKARTA - Three Borussia Dortmund legends held a coaching clinic in Jakarta, Friday, September 8. They collaborated with young players from Papua Football Academy to gain experience and training from legends.

This is the BVB Legend Tour initiated by the German giant club. The three legends that held the coaching clinic at the Madya Stadium, Senayan, were Marcel Schmelzer, Jorg totaling and Paul Lambert.

Starting with giving short directions to the participants, three Dortmund legends were seen enjoying the ongoing agenda despite the intense heat of the sun.

The participants, who on average are elementary and middle school age children, are no less enthusiastic about following the directions given by Schmelzer, Jorgmenmen and Paul Lambert.

During the two hours there were various activities carried out during coaching clinics. Not only providing lessons and experiences, but the legends also had time to motivate the participants from the Papua Football Academy.

Towards the end of the event, the General Chairperson (Ketum) of PSSI, Erick Thohir also took the time to come directly to the field. Erick realized that an agenda like this could be an alternative to seeing the talents of young players.

He then hopes that an event like this can give birth to really quality players. Because according to him it will be a good capital for Indonesian football to regenerate.

"Building a national football team is impossible only from seniors, it has to be really from grassroots, then middle, then aged 15, it continues to rise. And this agenda is one way," said Erick Thohir at the Madya Stadium, Senayan.

"To build a national team, you can't work alone, PSSI alone can't. That's why we encourage how the league has an Elite Pro Academy. Likewise PSSI in collaboration with the German League, coincidentally today from Dortmund who came to ensure also how we continue to improve existing talents can also be an alternative to regeneration in the national team," he continued.

Regarding the regeneration mentioned by Erick Thohir, this reflects on the current state of the national team. Where with the many agendas carried out by age groups and seniors, the number of players is relatively minimal.

"It was tough when this September there was preparations for the U-23 for the AFC (Asian Cup), Asian Games, our national team competed. What we feel is this, our number of players is lacking," said the Minister of SOEs.

"What does that mean? That's why we have to strengthen the number of players. Because in months like this everything plays. Well, this (regeneration) is what we have to encourage so that we have a lot of stock (players)," he continued.
