Rock Climbing Athletes Qualify For 2024 Olympics: IFSC Climbing World Championships 2023 Auto Champions Enter

YOGYAKARTA - Seven rock climbing athletes have confirmed their ticket to qualify for the 2024 Olympics in Paris, France. This result was achieved after they won the 2023 Rock Climbing World Championships in Bern, Switzerland on August 1- 12, 2023.

Rock Climbing Athletes Qualify For The 2024 Olympics

The 2024 Olympics became the initial Olympics for rock climbing into medal calculations. Previously, rock climbing sports were introduced at the 2020 Olympics in Tokyo as exhibitions.

One of the 7 athletes is a speed activist for Indonesian girls, Desak Made Rita Kusuma Dewi. The athlete from Bali qualified for the Olympics after winning the women's speed at the 2023 World Championships.

Later at the very prestigious sporting event, rock climbing will be accompanied by a total of 68 climbers. Climbers will compete in 2 noes, namely speed and combination to compete for 12 medals.

Of the 7 Indonesian climbing athletes who qualified for the 2024 Olympics, they came from men's and women's speeds and women's combinations. Of the total 10 Olympic tickets contested.

Urges Made Rita To Win Gold At The IFSC Climbing World Championships 2023

Launching from ANTARA, the night in the city of Bern, Switzerland, witnessed the silent struggle of Indonesian rock climbing athletes to compete for an automatic ticket to the 2024 Paris Olympics.

Armed with positive results obtained at the IFSC World Cup Chamonix, France last July, the Indonesian rock climbing contingent looked at the peak of the 2023 IFSC Climbing World Championships which took place in Bern, Switzerland.

Reflecting on the results of the championship in Chamonix, France, the Indonesian contingent bought up two gold through two men's speed competitions won by Rahmad Adi Mulyono and Rajiah Salsabillah's women's speed.

In Bern City, Indonesian contingents are able to demonstrate their ability to achieve an automatic ticket to the 2024 Paris Olympics through the women's speed number achieved by Desak Made Rita Kusuma Dewi.

The gold medal obtained by Desak Made at the IFSC Climbing World Championships also made him the first Indonesian rock climbing athlete to win the event.
