PSG Agrees To Sell Neymar To Al Hilal At A Price Of IDR 1.5 Trillion

JAKARTA Paris Saint-Germain (PSG) will sell their star Neymar to the Saudi Arabian Pro League team, AlHilal.

British media, BBC Sport, reported, Al Hilal spent 90 million euros (Rp 1.5 trillion) to get Neymar's signature. That doesn't include any other additional costs.

This transfer depends on the 31-year-old completing a medical and all required documents.

When completed, this transfer will continue the extraordinary summer shopping by Saudi clubs. This big purchase is also to fulfill Saudi Arabia's Pro League ambitions to become one of the top competitions in the world in the next few years.

Previously, players such as Karim Benzema, N'Golo Kante, Jordan Henderson, Ruben Neves, Sadio Mane, and Roberto Firmino, had moved to Saudi Arabia.

This massive move came after Portuguese superstar Cristiano Ronaldo joined Al-Nassr from Manchester United in January.

Neymar, who joined PSG for a transfer fee that broke a world record of 222 million euros in 2017, missed the French League 1 opener last Saturday last weekend.

According to reports, the 31-year-old was not part of Les Parisiens coach Luis Enrique's plans for the new season.

Neymar's sale is in line with PSG's strategy to stay away from the 'Galcticos' era that recruited famous players for large payments and significant salaries.

Neymar himself is estimated to earn a salary of 25 million euros per year at the French club.

News of Neymar's sale to Al Hilal comes just 24 hours after PSG player Kylian Mbappe was called back into first-team training after having positive talks with the club.

Mbappe, 24, has rejected a contract extension amid his desire to join Real Madrid. Therefore, he was said to be willing to be sold by the club.

Last month, PSG gave Al Hilal permission to speak to Mbappe. That was after the club from Saudi Arabia made an offer of 259 million.
