JAKARTA - Saudi Arabia's Pro League club, Al Nassr, has again brought in star players in the player transfer market. Sadio Mane was brought in from Bayern Munich to become Cristiano Ronaldo's teammate.
Mane officially wore the Al Nassr uniform after the transfer process was completed on Wednesday, August 2. The Senelgal national team player signed a four-year contract.
The arrival of the player from Senegal was announced by Al-Nassr in an official statement via their Twitter account. Financial details were not disclosed, but according to reports from several media, the Saudi Arabian club had to spend 40 million euros (around Rp664 billion) to bring the 31-year-old.
The price makes sense considering the contract is still two years remaining at Bayern, according to AFP via Antara.
Bayern Munich CEO Jan-Christian Dreesen bid farewell to Mane and thanked him for his hard work while defending the German club for one year.
"We want to thank Sadio Mane for last season," said Jan-Christian Dreesen.
"This is certainly not an easy year for him, suffering an injury just before the World Cup and missing for the Senegal national team, which he previously led and successfully won the Africa Cup and World Cup qualifiers."
"Due to his long rest time, he was unable to contribute as much as we and he himself hopes for FC Bayern. That's why we decided together that he should start a new chapter in his career and start a new start at another club."
