Lautaro Martinez Makes Inter Milan Defend The Coppa Italia Title

JAKARTA - Inter Milan won the Coppa Italia 2022/2023 after defeating Fiorentina at the Stadio Olimpico, Thursday, May 25, early morning WIB. Lautaro Martinez became a field star in this match.

The two Argentine goals brought Inter to the top. Inter won 2-1 over Fiorentina in this final match.

This victory also made Inter Milan defend their Coppa Italia title after last season beating Juventus in the final.

Fiorentina appeared pressing at the start of the game, they had even scored in the 3rd minute. Starting from Jonathan Ikone's pass to the far post which Nicolas Gonzalez grabbed in the penalty box. Suddenly theappropriation was stopped by goalkeeper Samir Handanovic to change the score to 1-0.

Inter tried to get up from the goal. Their attacks finally resulted in an equalizer in the 28th minute.

Marcelo Brozovic provided a pass to Lautaro. Even though it was guarded, the Argentine striker could still release a shot that broke into Fiorentina's goal. The position is a 1-1 draw.

Inter took the lead with Lautaro's second goal in the 36th minute. Lautaro struck Nicolo Barella's cross with a volley that Terracciano failed to stop. Fiorentina trailed 1-2.

This score lasted until halftime.

After the break, both teams continued to play attacking. Inter can only pose a dangerous threat in the 67th minute.

Romelu Lukaku controlled the ball and fired a shot with his left foot from outside the penalty box. Unfortunately, Lukaku's kick could still be held by Terracciano.

Handanovic also made several brilliant saves including Luka Jovic's shot in the 79th minute and 82nd minute.

Inter are still safe from conceding and managed to maintain their 2-1 lead until the game is over. Inter Milan won the Coppa Italia 2022/23.
