JAKARTA – UFC star Conor McGregor has again hinted at the potential opponents he will face. He gave the signal through the latest tweets on Twitter social media.
This tweet was made by the Irish fighter after watching Israel Adesanya regain the UFC middleweight title after defeating Alex Pereira, Sunday, April 9.
The Last Stylebender defeated Pereira via knockout (KO) in the second round in a thrilling top fight at UFC 287 at the Kaseya Center, Miami, Florida, United States.
Adesanya beat Pereira for the first time after four meetings. He previously lost twice to the Brazilian athlete in kickboxing and UFC 281 in November last year.
After Adesanya's victory, McGregor also seemed tempted to hold a fourth meeting with Dustin Poirier. The 34-year-old athlete is the only opponent McGregor has faced three times.
"Tetralogy fights are fun," tweeted The Notorious on his personal Twitter, which was later reported by The Sun.
From the three previous clashes, Poirier successfully secured a 2-1 advantage. The Diamond even broke McGregor's tibia in their last meeting at UFC 264 in July 2021.
It was the last time fans saw McGregor climb above the octagon.
McGregor won his first fight against Poirier back in 2014. At that point, he defeated Poirier via TKO in the first round.
Poirier then avenged that loss on Fight Island in January 2021 before returning to win over McGregor at UFC 264.
McGregor plans to fight Michael Chandler later this year as a comeback fight. However, until now there is no certainty regarding the date of the duel.
