Construction Of U-23 Indonesian National Team Framework For SEA Games Begins, 11 Players Sent Home

JAKARTA - The U-22 Indonesian National Team has started the stage of building a team framework. There have been 11 players sent home.

Coach Indra Sjafri said that new players would be brought in to take part in the training camp (TC) for the 2023 SEA Games.

"We have just sent 11 players home. We plan to add more players to join this training camp," Indra said on the PSSI's official website.

To finalize the team's preparations, there will be four trial matches. The opponents they faced were Bhayangkara FC and Lebanon.

"We have entered the stage of starting to build a team framework and building a game plan by conducting four trials later, and we will have the first trial with Bhayangkara FC," he added.

In the first trial against Bhayangkara, all players will be given the opportunity to show off. Indra hopes to see the progress of his players in the trial.

"Kamo will try all the players to be able to get playing time in the first trial later and will also make preparations for the trial against Lebanon," he said.

As is known, the U-22 Indonesian National Team is holding a training camp to face the 2023 SEA Games. Garuda Nusantara will pass the preliminary round in group A with hosts Cambodia, Myanmar, the Philippines, and Timor Leste.

Meanwhile, Group B will contain Thailand, Vietnam, Malaysia, Singapore, and Laos.

The 2023 SEA Games will be held on 5-17 May 2023. However, for the sport of football, the games will start on 29 April 2023.
