JAKARTA - The national sports world is grieving again. Indonesian bicycle racing legend, Hendra Gunawan or Hendrik Brocks passed away on Wednesday, 8 March 2023.

The retired TNI officer said that the legend's achievements will always be remembered. "We will continue his struggle to make Indonesia proud through sports," he said.

Hendrik Brocks is an Indonesian athlete who won gold at the 1962 Asian Games IV in Jakarta. The man from Sukabumi, who was born on March 27, 1942, managed to win three gold medals through individual numbers for the 190-kilometer Road Race individual, 100-kilometer Time Trial Team and 190-km Roadrace Team.
