Now Only Bad Luck can Thwart Napoli From Winning the Italian Serie A, Inter Milan has Given Up

JAKARTA - Inter Milan is starting to give up on chasing Napoli at the top of the Italian Serie A standings after failing to win any points at home to Sampdoria, Tuesday, February 14, Western Indonesian Time (WIB).

Away to Sampdoria headquarters at the Luigi Ferraris Stadium, Inter were only able to play out a goalless draw.

This result makes I Nerazzurri, who is in second place, now collects 44 points. They are 15 points behind Napoli.

Inter Milan coach, Simone Inzaghi, expressed his disappointment. When asked if Luciano Spalletti's Napoli could not be caught, Inzaghi replied to DAZN: "Of course, but we just have to see our progress."

"We are coming off three wins in a row and tonight we wanted to achieve a different result. There was a lot of bitterness," he continued.

The Nerazzurri I's front line was in the spotlight in the match against Sampdoria. They had 25 shots in the match.

This is the first time Inter have had that many shots without scoring in a Serie A match since February 2022 (29 against Sassuolo).

This result meant that Inter failed to score in two of their last four Serie A games.

"It's normal to be disappointed, we wanted another result. We didn't take this game for granted. There were many chances created against a team that gave everything on the pitch. We have to make the most of it," said Inzaghi.

"There are regrets because the players played the match in the right way, played it the way we had prepared. We have to be calmer and take better advantage of opportunities," continued the former Lazio coach.
