Malaysia Open 2023 Schedule: Indonesia Sends Five Representatives In The Quarterfinals, Apriyani/Fadia Face Third Seeds

JAKARTA - The Malaysia Open 2023 badminton tournament enters the quarter-finals on Friday, January 13. In this round, Indonesia sent five representatives to compete for tickets to the next round.

The appearance of Apriyani Rahayu/Siti Fadia Silva Ramadhanti will open Indonesia's struggle in the quarter-finals which will take place at the Axiata Arena, Malaysia. Apriyani/Fadia are the only representatives in the women's doubles for the Red and White team.

Their steps to win tickets to the semifinals will not be easy. The reason is, the opponent that must be faced is the representative of South Korea, Kim Seo-yong/Kong Hee-yong who is the third seeded women's doubles.

Apriyani/Fadia qualified for the quarter-finals with maximum effort, because in the second round, they were faced with South Korean representatives, Jeong Na-eun/Kim Hye-jeong who were also seeded fifth.

Apart from Apriyani/Fadia who took part in the quarter-finals, Indonesia's struggle will also be colored by exciting matches in the men's singles. Anthony Sinisuka Ginting as the only representative in this number will face Kanta Tsuneyama from Japan.

Men's doubles became the number that sent the most representatives with the presence of Mohammad Ahsan/Hendra Setiawan and Fajar Alfian/Muhammad Rian.

The senior couple Ahsan/Hendra will face Kang Min-hyuk/Jae Seo-seung. Meanwhile Fajar/Rian will challenge the eighth seed from Malaysia, Ong Yew Sin/Teo Ee Yi.

The last Indonesian representative in the quarter-finals came from the mixed doubles number. Dejan Ferdinansyah/Gloria Emanuelle Widjaja will fight against Kim Won Ho/Jeung Na Eun from South Korea.
