JAKARTA - PT ASDP Indonesia Ferry (Persero) recorded a surge in passenger numbers during the 2026 school holidays after the government provided stimulus in the form of exemption from port service tariffs. This policy has encouraged passenger growth to reach around 8 percent or higher compared to the increase trend in the previous holiday season.

Group Head of Commercial Shipping Business ASDP Rizki Dwianda said that before the government stimulus, the average growth of ASDP passengers in the peak holiday period was only in the range of 4.8 to 5.5 percent.

"Our average growth in various types of groups is usually in the range of 4.8 to 5.5 percent. But the unique fact is, when this stimulus is applied, it is quite high, in average it can increase by 8 percent," said Rizki in a media discussion in Jakarta, Wednesday, July 29.

Rizki explained that the government provided stimulus by exempting 100 percent of the port services tariff in the period from June 20 to July 5, 2026. This policy makes the price of the crossing ticket paid by the public about 20 percent cheaper.

Based on ASDP data, the program was used by 1,125,711 crossing service users. The details, as many as 165,622 pedestrian passengers or increased by 9 percent compared to the same period last year.

Then, the customers of vehicles in Group II reached 160,317 units or increased by 14.61 percent, while the vehicles in Group IVA were recorded as many as 799,772 units or increased by 0.38 percent.
