JAKARTA - Monster Yamaha Racing MotoGP racer, Fabio Quartararo, does not deny that the situation is now more in favor of Lenovo's Ducati champion, Francesco Bagnaia. However, he still had the confidence to turn things around.

Currently, Bagnaia leads the standings with 233 points. The Italian rider is 14 points ahead of Quartararo.

Previously, Quartararo was very far ahead of Bagnaia. However, his performance faded after the summer break.

Quartararo's failure to finish in Australia added to a series of poor performances by the Yamaha rider. He collected just eight points from the last four races.

"The championship has passed to him (Bagnaia) since the Sachsenring, but that means the situation can change also for us in the last two races," Quartararo told the official MotoGP website.

MotoGP 2022 does have two races left. The riders will compete for points at Sepang Malaysia and Valencia Spain.

Quartararo and Yamaha are likely to change their strategy in order to achieve better results.

"A change of strategy will be difficult but I think we have to do our best, and more than that, enjoy it," said Quartararo.

"Because the last few races I wasn't able to enjoy it, and I think I need to enjoy the last two races."

"That's the most important thing for me, because when I know when I'm comfortable, I feel like I can go fast."
