JAKARTA - UFC star and legend Khabib Nurmagomedov has just returned to the ring. But not to fight again, but to support his cousin, Usman Nurmagomedov.

Usman currently holds an unbeaten record and that makes him look just as scary as his cousin, Khabib.

Khabib Nurmagomedov retired from the UFC labeled as one of the greatest fighters of all time after breaking a 29-0 record. The label is now trying to be pursued by his cousin, Usman.

Usman is only 24 years old, but already has a terrible 15-0 record. He got the record after beating Chris Gonzalez at Bellator 283 on Friday.

It took Usman just three minutes to make Gonzales surrender in the fight that took place at the Emerald Queen Casino in Tacoma, Washington.

With this victory, Usman is now the number one challenger in the Bellator Lightweight division. Khabib also showed real support when Usman fought, by continuing to be in Usman's corner.

So far Khabib said he was happy to see how his cousin continued to show improvement in every fight. "Now he has come in his own way," Khabib told Sports Illustrated, quoted by the Daily Star.

"He's getting better every fight, and I think he's at 50 percent of his potential and he's going to be a future Bellator champion."

Usman made his professional debut in 2017 and since then he has amassed an impressive three-win average per year, including all four of his fights under the Bellator promotion.

Despite being overshadowed by Nurmagomedov's big name, Usman claims that he doesn't feel any pressure. He was actually happy because Khabib was always by his side.

"I felt good when he was there. It was motivation. With my family, I have the strongest angle in the sport," said Usman. "I have to represent our family at the highest level. That's what I plan to do."

After maintaining a 15-0, Usman is reportedly aiming for Patricky Pitbull next. He wants to dethrone the champion and claim the belt for the first time in his career.
