TANJUNG SELOR - The fire on the land on Jalan Bukit Dua Belas, Apung Village, Tanjung Selor District, Bulungan Regency, was extinguished after the North Kalimantan Police (Kaltara) Samapta Directorate (Dit Samapta) deployed a Quick Response team with the Bulungan Regency Disaster Management Agency (BPBD), Saturday (18/7/2026) evening.

In the operation, personnel deployed the tactical vehicle for forest and land fire control (Karhutla) Pol 1433-XXXIV and supporting equipment in the form of water pumps, fire hoses, Karhutla nozzles, and backpack pumps.
"Officers are focusing on extinguishing efforts at active fire points, including embers stored below the surface of the land. After the flames were successfully controlled, the process continued with cooling to ensure the fire did not re-ignite," said Kombes Slamet.
"Although the terrain is quite difficult because it is filled with bushes and dry vegetation, personnel together with the BPBD can complete the extinguishing process gradually until all the fire points are extinguished," he continued.
From the results of monitoring, it was shown that there was no longer any spread of fire to the surrounding area.
"The situation at the scene is confirmed to be safe and conducive after officers conducted patrols to ensure that there were no fire points that could potentially trigger a follow-up fire," he said.
He emphasized that the success of handling the fire was inseparable from the synergy between the Dit Samapta Polda Kaltara and the BPBD Bulungan Regency in providing a quick response to each incident in the field.
