Manchester United Will Have Closed Trial Match Against Ryan Reynolds' Club, Christian Eriksen Makes Debut?

JAKARTA - Manchester United is rumored to be playing Wrexham in a closed friendly match without spectators, this week. This game was the request of manager Erik ten Hag who wanted to get extra games before the new season started.

Previously, Manchester United already had a trial match schedule against Atletico Madrid and Rayo Vallecano, this weekend.

The plan is that Ten Hag will field young players in the match against the club owned by Hollywood stars, Ryan Reynolds and Rob McElhenney.

However, it is understandable that the Dutch manager would still like to see some senior players show what they are capable of, the Manchester Evening News reported.

One of them is Christian Eriksen. He is likely to feature because he has not played in a Manchester United shirt since his free signing. Eriksen did not join the team on the club's pre-season tour of Asia and Australia.

Apart from Eriksen, the Portuguese star, Cristiano Ronaldo is also likely to be deployed in the friendly match later.

Currently, the former Real Madrid and Juventus player is in Manchester. Previously, Cristiano Ronaldo missed the pre-season tour for "family reasons".

But SunSport launched, Ronaldo's arrival was not to join the club. He is rumored to be demanding that he be allowed to leave the club immediately.

The club has insisted over the last few weeks that it will not sell the player. Ten Hag also said the 37-year-old was an important part of his plans.

Cristiano Ronaldo still has a contract with one year remaining. However, there is the option of an additional 12 months that could see him stay at Old Trafford until the age of 39.
