JAKARTA — Canadian rapper Drake has won big bets. That was after he backed UFC stars Molly McCann and Paddy Pimblett.
Drake won a total of £3 million or IDR 53 billion for both bets. He also promised to reward the two heroes with one Rolex luxury watch each.
The 35-year-old rapper risked more than £1.9 million or IDR 34 billion. He favored Molly and Pimblett to come out victorious in the octagon.
The prediction worked. Molly managed to KO against Hannah Goldy, while Pimblett managed to force Jordan Leavitt to surrender at the O2 Arena, London.
The Grammy Award-winning musician then showed off the big win on his personal Instagram. He uploaded his bet slip with the caption 'A scousers parlay' and tagged the crypto betting platform Stake.
"Rolex for Meatball and The Baddy," Drake wrote in a separate post.
Drake is known to be no stranger to high-stakes bets. He has often bet especially for fights in the UFC.
Earlier this month he gambled $1 million on Israel Adesanya against Jared Cannonier at UFC 276 in Las Vegas. Adesanya came out victorious in the duel.
This victory also ended the famous 'Drake's Curse'. The star who was familiarly called Drizzy was previously known to be always unlucky when supporting certain fighters.
Justin Gaethje was one of the victims after Drake bet £346.000 on him against Charles Oliveira in May. In that duel, Gaethje had to go home with a defeat.
Jorge Masvidal had a similar fate last March when Drake bet £229k against Colby Covington. In that match, Masvidal also brought home bad luck.
