Singapore Open 2022: Anthony Ginting And Fajar/Rian Reach Quarter-Final

JAKARTA — Indonesia's men's singles, Anthony Sinisuka Ginting, stepped into the quarter-finals of the Singapore Open 2022. He defeated the representative of Taiwan, Lin Chun-Yi

The 25-year-old badminton player won through a three-game battle 21-12, 19-21, and 21-16 at the Singapore Indoor Stadium, on Thursday, July 14.

Unfortunately, previously Jonatan Christie's men's singles move did not continue. The fifth seed had to go home early after losing to Japan's representative, Kodai Naraoka.

In the men's singles number, Indonesia can add representatives in the quarter-finals if Tommy Sugiarto can win against sixth seed Loh Kean Yew.

Besides Anthony, the men's doubles ticket for the last eight was also obtained by Fajar Alfian/Muhammad Rian Ardianto. This pair won the rubber games 21-12, 15-21, and 21-13 over the Chinese representatives, Ren Xiang Yu/Tan Qiang.

The passing of Anthony and Fajar/Rian made Indonesia have already placed four representatives in the last eight. Previously, the men's doubles and women's doubles had each passed one representative.

From the men's doubles, the ticket was obtained by Sabar Karyaman Gutama/Moh Reza Pahlevi Isfahani. This pair won over representatives of Malaysia Goh V Shem/Low Juan Shen.

Then the women's doubles top eight ticket was obtained by the pair Febriana Dwi Puji Kusuma/Amalia Cahaya Pratiwi who also made it to the quarter-finals.
