2020 All England champion pair withdrew just moments before the last 16 matches against Malaysian representatives Chen Tang Jie/Valeree Siow.
“Jordan/Melati withdraw from the round of 16 at the East Ventures Indonesia Open 2022 because Jordan has a back problem in his waist. Get well soon!” wrote PBSI on their Twitter account.
The withdrawal of Praveen/Melati made Indonesia run out of representatives in the mixed doubles number. Previously they were the only mixed doubles to get tickets to the round of 16 of the four representatives who fought in the main draw.
The other three pairs that have died in the first few years are Rinov Rivaldy/Pitha Haningtyas Mentari, Rehan Naufal Kusharjanto/Lisa Ayu Kusumawati, and Hafiz Faizal/Serena Kani.
