Leverkusen 0-1 Leipzig: Die Roten Bullen Keeps Unbeaten For Two Months

JAKARTA - RB Leipzig continued their unbeaten run after carving out a 1-0 win over hosts Bayer 04 Leverkusen in the German Bundesliga on Monday, April 18 in the morning of Indonesian Time (WIB).

The victory over Leverkusen was determined by a single goal scored by Dominik Szoboszlai in the 69th minute. That single goal in the second half meant that Leipzig had not scored a goal in the first half for the first time this season.

This result means that Die Rotten Bullen have not lost a single game in more than two months. Leipzig recorded the last time they lost while playing at Bayern Munich's headquarters in the continuation of this season's Bundesliga in February.

After that defeat, Leipzig bagged a total of ten wins in all competitions from the 14 matches they played. Meanwhile, the other four matches they have ended with draws against Atalanta, Eintracht Frankfurt, Freiburg and Real Sociedad.

In addition to maintaining an unbeaten record in more than two months, the addition of three points made Leipzig successful in overtaking Leverkusen on the standings. Currently, Leipzig has moved up to third in the standings with 54 points, while Werkself has dropped to fourth with 52 points.

Despite getting an additional three points, Leipzig's chance to move up to second place shifting Borussia Dortmund is a bit difficult. The reason is, they are still nine points adrift of Die Borussen with four games remaining.

Next up, Leipzig will host Union Berlin at the Red Bull Arena on Saturday, April 23. This could be a fierce match because Berlin itself still has a chance to occupy a place in the competition for the top four.

Meanwhile, Leverkusen will have an away match the following week to Greuther Furth headquarters on the same day. Leverkusen is predicted to easily return to winning ways against the team who are still at the bottom of the standings.
