Thomas Tuchel After Chelsea Gets Defeated By Real Madrid: If We Keep Playing Like This, We Will Lose To Southampton And Be Crushed At The Santiago Bernabeu

JAKARTA - Chelsea manager, Thomas Thucel, was so annoyed with his team's performance when they lost 1-3 to Real Madrid in the first leg of the 2021/2022 Champions League quarter-final, Thursday 7 April early morning of Indonesian Western Time (WIB).

Tuchel rate, Chelsea's game is far from the real level. He said his team's performance in the first half against Real Madrid was the same as the performance in the second half against Bentford. At that time, Chelsea also lost by a landslide score.

"We have to find our level again. I don't know where it has been since the international break but today's first half represented the second half against Brentford. In the quarter-finals against Real Madrid, you cannot accept the results of a performance like this," said Tuchel.

Tuchel seemed to have thrown the towel if his team's performance did not change in the second leg later. In fact, he predicts his team will lose to Southampton in the Premier League this weekend if they play in the same way.

"We have to go to Southampton (first). I think, it is very important to process this first, it is very crucial for us to go to Southampton," he said.

"If we keep playing like this, we will lose to Southampton, and we don't have to think about (the match at Santiago) Bernabeu. We will be destroyed at the Bernabeu," continued the German coach.

"If we keep on playing like this we will lose in Southampton and then we don't need to think about the Bernabéu - we will get hammered in Bernabéu."

Chelsea will face the second leg of the Champions League quarter-final against Real Madrid at the Santiago Bernabeu, 12 April. They must win by three goals to qualify for the next round.

At least Chelsea must win by a score of 3-1 for the match to proceed to extra time. However, previously, Cesar Azpilicueta and his friends had to face Southampton first in the Premier League, this weekend.
