Persita Draws 3-3 Against PSIS In Liga 1 Continuation, Widodo C Putro: This Is Football

GIANYAR - Persita Tangerang had to settle for a 3-3 draw against PSIS Semarang in the continuation of the Indonesian League 1, Sunday, March 20. In fact, Persita had a 3-1 lead in the match which took place at the Captain I Wayan Dipta Stadium, Gianyar, Bali.

The victory that was in front of Persita's eyes was broken after PSIS scored two goals through Wallace Costa in the 65th and 71st minutes.

Persita's coach, Widodo C. Putro, was clearly upset with this result. He said, his team should be able to maintain excellence.

"But this has happened. All the players also want to maintain their advantage, but apparently, we can't. What is clear is that we have two more matches, we will maximize again. So that we can win the match," Widodo said, as reported by Antara.

Regarding the appearance of Brazilian striker Taylon Correa who was able to score two goals in this match, Widodo was reasonable with this because it was indeed the task of the forwards.

The former Bali United coach continued to say that he appreciated all his players for the hard work they had shown despite failing to win the match in the end.

"For the coach, it is natural because he is a striker. A striker in addition to scoring goals, also assists his friends. Appreciation for friends, not only Taylon but other friends who can at the beginning," explained Widodo.

"But this is football. Where we have excelled, friends also must have the power to retaliate and that we cannot defend," he continued.

This one point achievement makes Persita now collect 39 points. While PSIS has 43 points from 32 matches.
