Second Day Of German Open 2022, Indonesia Scores 3 Victories

JAKARTA - A positive result was achieved by the Indonesian badminton team by creating three victories made by Rinov Rivaldy/Pitha Haningtyas Mentari, Fajar Alfian/Muhammad Rian Ardianto, and Jonatan Christie on the second day of the German Open, Wednesday.

Rinov/Pitha mixed doubles won easily 21-10, 21-6 over New Zealand representatives Oliver Laydon-Davis/Anona Pak.

"Alhamdulillah, today we were able to win, before trying to adjust the pattern of playing. Trying to enter first and not die alone," Pitha said as quoted by Antara, Thursday.

Appearing for the first time in 2022, Rinov/Pitha were tense when they competed in the first round of the BWF Super 300 tournament.

"There is a burden, there is tension, normally I just want to play. But I don't want to think too much. I focus more on the match," said Pitha.

In the round of 16, Rinov/Pitha will meet Yuki Kaneko/Misaki Matsutomo from Japan who surprisingly beat their compatriots, Yuta Watanabe/Arisa Higashino with 21-15, 21-19.

"The opportunity for tomorrow is there, we should be more confident as well. We just shouldn't be too confident. All opponents are the same, what is different from what we are in ourselves. Now whatever the situation we must be confident because we are tired of training," said Rinov .

In the men's doubles, Fajar/Rian played less comfortably, so they had to go through a rubber game to beat the Danish pair Jeppe Bay/Lasse Molhede.

"Earlier the game was still not good, we are still looking for ways to get a better atmosphere and try to adapt to the shuttlecock, the field. Yesterday it was good during practice, but today when playing the most the cock feels like it's different from during practice," said Rian after winning 21-14, 9-21, 21-14.

Jonathan also experienced rubber sets in the men's singles sector when he faced Li Shi Feng from China. Luckily he can get out of the pressure and qualify for the second half with 21-16, 18-21, 21-15 in one hour 19 minutes.
