Winning 2-0 In The First Leg, Klopp Is Actually Worried About Liverpool Vs Inter Milan In The Last 16 Of The Champions League

JAKARTA - Liverpool will host Inter Milan at Anfield Stadium in the second leg of the 2021/2022 Champions League last 16, Wednesday morning Indonesian Western Time (WIB). Liverpool is more likely to qualify because they won 2-0 in the first leg which took place at the Giuseppe Meazza.

Despite having an advantage, Liverpool manager Jurgen Klopp asked his team to stay focused. Klopp said a 2-0 scoreline was still dangerous as his team would think they had one foot in the next round.

"All the dangers that everyone needs to know. It's 2-0, the advantage I think has been overturned the most in the history of football," Klopp told the club's official website, as quoted by Antara.

"Because when you end the first half with a 2-0 lead and you have a team that thinks they are halfway through, you've been thinking in the wrong way, so we've been around long enough (in this competition) and we know that," he continued.

Klopp actually never expected his team to win 2-0 in the first leg. According to him, the match against Inter at the Giuseppe Meazza was very difficult to deal with.

He also said it was difficult to play their style of play, knowing Inter has qualities that cannot be underestimated.

"It was a better result than I had expected, to be honest, before we played there. The game went like we would have won it 2-0," Klopp explained.

"It was a difficult meeting and a very difficult game to play. We knew before they had real quality. After that, we knew we had real quality."

Please note, Liverpool won 2-0 over Inter thanks to goals scored by Roberto Firmino and Mohamed Salah. This victory means Liverpool only need a draw or at least lose by one goal difference to Inter in the second leg to ensure themselves qualify for the Champions League quarter-finals.
