JAKARTA - Indonesian women's singles badminton player, Gregoria Mariska Tunjung is one of the names trusted to be included in the Red and White squad to appear in the 2022 Asian Team Badminton Championships. Gregoria immediately set a target for her performance later.

Gregoria has big ambitions to contribute points in every game that is entrusted to her. In addition, she hopes that the junior players can also perform optimally when appearing on the field.

"The target is, of course, to donate points every time it is believed to go down and I also want the juniors to bring out all their abilities," said Gregoria as quoted from the Indonesian Badminton Association (PBSI)'s official statement.

Gregoria is trusted to be one of Indonesia's representatives in the 2022 Asian Team Badminton Championships because of his achievements. This Wonogiri-born badminton player is Indonesia's mainstay in the women's singles sector because it has the highest ranking, namely 27th.

With that note, Gregoria's slick appearance is expected to be able to take the Red and White Women's Team a step further in the 2022 Asian Team Badminton Championships. Gregoria is also the most senior player in the squad who is expected to guide and transmit enthusiasm to her juniors.

Furthermore, Gregoria also said that team cohesiveness would have a big influence on the results obtained. She said this based on his experience after appearing in the 2020 Uber Cup.

"Learning from the Uber Cup last year, we are united and we support each other, which can make the difference in every game," she explained.

The 2022 Asian Team Badminton Championships will take place on February 15-20 in Selangor, Malaysia. The Red and White Squad departed for Malaysia on Monday, February 7 afternoon.

They left first because they had to do quarantine considering the competition was held in the midst of the COVID-19 pandemic which was surging again.
