20 Women's National Team Basketball Players Go To Training Camp In Surabaya To Prepare For The Hanoi SEA Games

JAKARTA – The Indonesian women's basketball team is ready to undergo a training camp to prepare for the Hanoi SEA Games. A total of 20 basketball players will be called to participate in the activity.

The training camp will begin on February 4 in Surabaya, East Java. The list of names participating in the activity was released on Tuesday, February 1.

"The Indonesian women's basketball team will again hold a training camp in Surabaya, and the following are the women's national team squad that will fight in the training camp which will start on February 4, 2022", said the official statement from the Indonesian Basketball National Team, quoted by ANTARA.

Some of the names of the 20 players who were called were not foreign names. They were included in the Indonesian women's squad which won a bronze medal at the 2019 Philippines SEA Games.

The names include Yuni Anggraeni, Clarita Antonio, Kadek Pratita Citta Dewi, Lea Elvensia Kahol, Husna Aulia Latifah, Agustin Elya Gradita Retong, Gabriel Sophia, Henny Sutjiono, and Adelaide Callista Wongsohardjo.

In addition, there are naturalized women's basketball players Kimberley Pierre Louis and Peyton Alexis Whitted. Other names are those who strengthen Indonesia in the 2021 FIBA Women's Asia Cup, such as Priscilla Annabel Karen and Sumiati, as well as several other Indonesian women's basketball players.

The Indonesian women's basketball team at the 2019 SEA Games in the Philippines was ranked third behind Thailand, which came home with a silver medal. Meanwhile, the gold medal was taken home by the home basketball team.

The Hanoi SEA Games were supposed to be held last year. However, the multi-branch event throughout Southeast Asia had to be postponed until May 12-23 2022 due to the COVID-19 pandemic.

The following are the names of Indonesian women's basketball players who will undergo TC in Surabaya in preparation for the 2022 Hanoi SEA Games.
