The FIFA Matchday Agenda In Bali Between Indonesia Vs Bangladesh Will Use The Bubble To Bubble System

JAKARTA - The Indonesian national team is scheduled to play a test match against Bangladesh on the FIFA Matchday agenda in Bali.

Ahead of the match which will take place at the end of January, the Secretary-General of the Indonesian Football Association (PSSI), Yunus Nusi said that this agenda will use a bubble system.

Thus, both Indonesia and Bangladesh national team players cannot move freely except in hotels, training fields and stadiums where matches are played. This bubble system was deliberately implemented in order to obtain permission to hold a trial match from the government.

"This (so that Bangladesh does not need to be quarantined upon arrival in Bali) is what we will convey to National Board for Disaster Management (BNPB) for a bubble to bubble application," Yunus said in a written message received by VOI, Tuesday, January 11.

Currently, the PSSI is applying for a permit from the National Disaster Management Agency (BNPB) regarding the arrival of Bangladesh to Bali. The PSSI hopes that the government can provide relief, namely there is no quarantine obligation for the Bangladesh squad.

Because, it was previously known that according to the provisions of the COVID-19 Task Force, the quarantine period for Indonesian citizens (WNI) and foreign nationals (WNA) from abroad is 10 days. However, fortunately, this rule does not apply to 13 countries, one of which is Bangladesh.

Apart from the bubble system that will be applied in the test match later, the Indonesian national team is scheduled to face Bangladesh twice. The first match will take place at the Captain I Wayan Dipta Stadium, Gianyar, Bali on January 24, while the second match will take place at the same location on January 27.

Regarding the trial on the FIFA Matchday agenda, PSSI itself hopes that the Indonesian national team can win the two test matches, so that they can improve their ranking in FIFA. Currently, Indonesia is in 164th position or just below Vanuatu and Barbados.
